Party Pics

Now that I have fully rested up from all the planning and the actual party, I can post some pics. Delilah seemed to have a good time. As with last year, she didn't have much interest in opening her presents. Mainly due to having 3 BIG gifts sitting unwrapped, and ready for play. Thank goodness her friend, Addison, was here to assist. She made sure to get all presents unwrapped and opened. Enjoy the pics. (Lighting isn't ideal in my house, so pics are a bit funny.)

Her big gifts. Car from Nana and Pawpaw. Tricycle from Pops and Gran Deanie.
Kitchen from Mommy and Daddy.

Modeling her new apron and dress. (Both made by Mommy)

Checking out her new toys.

I think she likes.

Loving her new tricycle.

"Why do I have to work during my party?" (Pretty much refusing to open gifts.)

Thank you Addison!

Yum!

Shoving the whole cupcake in her mouth. (It's a mini.)

So cute!

Addison has the right idea. Make it last, one sprinkle at a time!

Happy 2nd Birthday

It's hard to believe that Delilah is 2 today. Where does the time go? She has grown so much over the past year. She's walking, running, jumping, climbing, talking, singing, etc, etc, etc.  Her little personality is not so little anymore. It's MEGA! She is very much miss independent and wants things done her way. (Can't imagine who she gets that from?!?) Even with the diva toddler attitude, she is still the sweetest and easiest child to be around. Her smile can instantly turn a bad day into a great one. We look forward to seeing what this next year will bring for her. If it is anything like this past year, then we know it will be AWESOME.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there, especially Danny Barrow (my Dad), Bob Unfried (John's Dad) and Jonathan Unfried (Delilah's Dad). You three are AMAZING!

This morning we attended church and then took D to a park to walk around and get some new shots with her and John. I was hoping to come away with a full memory card of beautiful pics, but, alas, Delilah wasn't really cooperating. Not to mention the harsh light of the sun messing with my pics. Anyway, I did manage to pull a total of 2 (that's right only 2) good ones. I did a couple of edits to each one, so I thought I would share them all.  **SOOC = Straight out of Camera***

Let's Get Planning

It’s time to get serious and plan this One Small Step Walk for Prader-Willi Syndrome (also referred to as the OSS Walk). The walk will be August 27, 2011, at Heardmont Park. My friend, Jenn, and I spent some time yesterday discussing all the things we would like to see at this event. As we are only 2 people, we know we will need some help getting these things and running this event. This is where you come in. If you would like to volunteer, provide a service, or hunt for sponsors with us, now is the time to speak up.

Below I will list some of our ideas. We would love to hear yours as well. We will be having a meeting, Wednesday night, June 22 at 7pm, in Cahaba Heights (Jenns House) to discuss and plan the OSS Walk. Wine and heavy appetizers will be provided. All interested in helping out are invited to attend. We would love to see you there. If you would like to attend, please email me at kera.unfried@gmail.com so I can provide you the address and directions if needed.

Items/Services Needed for OSS Walk:
If you can provide any of these items, please email me at kera.unfried@gmail.com.
  • ·      Volunteers (to work at specified areas, i.e. registration table, water table, set up, clean up, etc)
  • ·      PA System/DJ (something we can make announcements over such as winners of raffles, etc)
  • ·      Children’s Activities

o   Bounce House
o   Face Painter
o   Balloon Animals
o   Games (to be decided/planned)
o   Arts and Crafts
o   Anything else that you can think of that may be fun.
  • ·      Silent Auction Items

o   Would like to see at least 10 items to make the Silent Auction. More would be AWESOME!
  • ·      Raffle Prize Items

o   Looking for a few (2-3) big ticket items (i.e. iPod, iPad, etc) to entice walkers to raise lots of $$.
o   Also would like a few (2-3) moderate items for the raffle.
o   For every $100 raised, participants will receive a raffle ticket to put towards whichever prize they would like.
  • ·      Loot Bags

o   Will need the Bags as well as the items to be placed in the bags. (Would love to put a pedometer in each bag.)
  • ·      Event Photographer

o   Does not need to be professional. Someone who is willing to walk around and take some photos for us would be great.
  • ·      Beverages and Snacks

o   Think healthy, as this is a walk about Prader-Willi Syndrome. (Granola, fresh fruit, popcorn, etc)
o   Need Water (has to be a product of Buffalo Rock as the walk is at Heardmont Park, which they sponsor.)

Let the Party Planning Begin!

It's June! In 23 days Delilah will turn 2 years old! So what is a girl to do? Plan a party of course. This year we are going with a Red, Pink and Aqua color theme. It plays off her birthday present I just ordered for her. Anyway, I have set the time, date and location, and even designed the invite.  Now to just plan the rest of the party. Any ideas?

**As you can see I left off some personal information. If you would like to celebrate with us please email me your RSVP.**
